We believe that our city-state, Hephaestue, is more like Athens. This is because, unlike Sparta, we embrace education and furthering the knowledge of people in out city-state, which is what Athens did as well. Also, like Athens, even though we think ourselves above others, we still would cooperate and create allies to trade with. Another reason Hephaestue is more like Athens is because we have incorporated some of the themes in the Athenian government into our own. One of them being ostracism, this is when citizens come together and on an ostrica, write down the name of an undesirable politician. However, we did make some changes to this when we believed them to be necessary. In Athens, if the same name appeared on 6,000 pieces of ostrica, the politician would be exiled for ten years. In Hephaestue, the number of ostrica necessary is still the same, but instead of being exiled for ten years, they would just be taken form their roles and placed back into the Assembly. There then would be a vote or lottery (depending on what job they were taken out of) to find someone to take their place. All of these major points in our city-state show, that we are more like Athens than we are Sparta.
